Underground Fibre-Optic Cable Installation Across The Region Not Related To ALTO

Crews installing underground fibre-optic cable across parts of Champlain and North Glengarry are not working on the proposed Alto high-speed rail project. Alto officials say their current work between Ottawa and Montréal is limited to environmental and field studies, while the fibre-optic installations are part of the province’s ongoing effort to expand high-speed internet service in rural communities.
