Councillor Ian Walker said the Township of Alfred-Plantagenet is still maintaining old bylaws that are considered outdated, with fines for offences such as throwing a paper airplane into a park or possessing a firecracker.
During the study of by-law 2026-30, he says some of the bylaws are “ridiculous.” Clerk Julie Prud’Homme acknowledged that some regulations are probably obsolete and recalled that the current revision is mainly aimed at adjusting the scale of fines.
