Investigation Continues In Collision That Closed John Street And Interprovincial Bridge

The investigation continues following a collision which resulted in the temporary closure of John Street and the Long Sault Bridge in Hawkesbury.

On Friday, November 14, 2025, around 4:20 a.m., officers with the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the intersection of John Street and Du Chenail Boulevard. A box truck had flipped onto its side, blocking the road.

Hawkesbury Firefighters were already at the scene and providing aid to the truck’s driver. The 34-year-old male from Prevost, Quebec was initially trapped in the truck but was removed by firefighters and was transported to hospital by Prescott Russell Paramedics. The man’s injuries were not serious, and he was later released from the hospital.

The roadway was reopened around 8:30 a.m.

Roads were slippery at the time of the incident.

The investigation by Hawkesbury OPP is continuing.
