Arson Investigation At Hawkesbury Pizza Resto – Two Arrested – Warrant Issued For Third Person

Two people have been arrested and charged following an arson investigation in Hawkesbury.

On Monday, August 4, 2025, shortly before 11:30 p.m., officers with the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an arson at a pizza restaurant on James Street. Witnesses reported seeing two men walk away from the scene.

As a result of the investigation by front line officers and members of the Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit, one person was arrested in Saint-Leonard, Quebec and another was arrested in Montreal with assistance from Montreal Police.

Mohamed GUIRE, age 21 of Montreal and Sammaih PHILLIPS BONHOMMETTE, age 21 of Saint-Leonard, Quebec have each been charged with arson-damage to property.

GUIDE was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on October 22, 2025. PHILLIPS BONHOMMETTE was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on October 15, 2025.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 20-year-old man, wanted for arson and for failing to comply with a release order.

Two other fires at local pizza restaurants remain under investigation. Investigators cannot speculate on any potential connection between these incidents.
