Christmas Market

By Derrick Scott Oct 15, 2026 | 11:17 AM

Celebrate the holiday season at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum’s outdoor Christmas market on Saturday, November 28, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is FREE. Along with shopping local, enjoy festive music, a bonfire with marshmallows, hot cocoa and apple cider, soups for sale, photo opportunities and even “Santa Grams” for kids!

25 local vendors will be setup on the museum grounds – in the pavilion and one-room schoolhouse. Pick up local wine, baking, slippers, hats, soaps, woodworking, fresh green wreathes, and much more. If you are worried about the cold, dress warmly and be relieved to know that there will be outdoor heaters in the enclosed pavilion and schoolhouse.

Once you’re done shopping, warm up by getting some hot apple cider, picking up a bowl of hot soup and homemade buns or roasting a marshmallow by the fire. Then wander the grounds and take some photos with your family, set against the beautiful log buildings.

Local photographer, Red Dog Digital will also be at the museum with their red, vintage, 1940s Ford truck – straight out of a Coca Cola commercial! If you are interested in booking a mini photo shoot with the photographer, please go to: www.reddogdigital.ca

NEW this year, bring your kids along between 12:00 and 2:00 pm to send a “Santa Gram” to the North Pole. Our telegraph operator will send your child’s wish in special code to the North Pole and just maybe a message will come back! This is free, but donations are welcome.

Decked out with lights, the museum’s log buildings twinkle with magic. This unique market is the perfect opportunity to get into the festive spirit and support local artisans from your community. Put Dunvegan on your list of local shopping and festive outings to do with the whole family. Details can be found at www.glengarrypioneermuseum.ca or by calling the museum 613-527-5230.
