Since the start of the Festive RIDE campaign on November 20, the Eastern Ontario Region OPP has arrested 34 drivers for impaired driving. More than 270 checks were carried out, and hundreds of motorists were checked. The 34 drivers arrested received a 90-day licence suspension, a 7-day tow and a court date. Seven others received a three-day suspension for “warning” results. The OPP reminds people to provide a safe way to return and to call 9-1-1 to report a possible impaired driver.
