Hawkesbury & U.C.P.R. Increase Staff For Next Generation Of 9-1-1 Service

Hawkesbury and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell will increase staff at the Regional Fire Dispatch Centre to prepare for the transition to next-generation 9-1-1 service in 2026. The number of dispatchers will increase from four to eight full-time, plus two part-time, and one supervisor position will be created. The budget will rise to $1.19 million in 2026, an increase of $578,000. The Hawkesbury centre is the only fully bilingual centre in Ontario.
